ok my baby fell out the bed in mar 2009. i called the parametics they came out checked my baby and said he was fine but the crying scARED me, so i just wanted to make sure every thing was fine, well right afther he fell out the bed say 30 to 45 min later i gave him a bottle so when i took him to the hospital they wanted to do a ct they couldnt because he had just sucked a bottle they wanted his tommy empty, so they diagnosed his jaw broken they say he had a mandibuliar symphosis fracture now remember they never took any test on him the doctor just looked at him and said it . so i was told to bring him back that morning and i did so they ran the test now they say his jaw was out of place then they call dcfs then admitted him in the hospital, say about 2 3 days later dcfs visits me, then the next day the cops any way the cop got me from the hospital with the baby on the 13 this happened on the 9th, the cop told me he will bring me right back i went to take a polygraph so he told me we had to go to the station to get the results, so he asking me who hurt my baby i told him what happened dcfs has a report the hospital has a report well the officer lied in the arrest report and said the baby was in my care at the time well this is my grandson me my mom and his mom all live together, i had just got off work that morning and the baby was in the room with my mom and she told them all the baby was in her care at the time in the bed room with her, now the officer lied and said he was with me and said he read me my rights first he tricked me to the station first then he read me my rights, i went to jail my bond was 30,000, went to court for 6 mo no one never showed up ithe judge dismissed it, i had a administrative hearing with dcfs i won that, the officer didn't have any evidence nor did dcfs neither the dcfs worker showed up or his supervisor showed up for the hearing i won because they had no evidence of neglect or abuse and the doctors didn't have any remarks on if it was abuse or neglect , they had information in the investigative report that had nothing to do with my family what so ever, the doctors mixed his papre work up with someone else. and the judge put in heer statement that what the doctors put in their report about my baby he didn't fit the discription, he had no bruise on him they didn't have to give him pain meds, or iv he was in strogers for 7 days, i never saw the dcfs worker but once. since we were indicated. afther all this was over i got custody of my grandson 1 month later the dcfs worker wrote public aid and told them to remove him off my madical card because he no longer lives with me, now i got my letter sealed by dorthy brown signature, a month afther he retaliates and had him removed from my medical card but i made them put him back on my case worker said if shr gave me a copy she will loose her job a copy of the letter he wrote. what should i do

Black/White/cultural marital issues. Could really use your help?

Got married very young (20 years old). Two vastly different cultures (Urban African American [me], Suburban European American[him]). I over-immersed into his world, and lost myself in the process. I spent years trying to fit a mold that I did not fit into, trying to imilate into his world and operate the way women operate. Husband was never very comfortable with immersing into my world.There were always reasons why we should not go into my world and be a part of it, making our lives culturally balanced. I gave in and stayed in his world, convincing myself that the Euro American suburban lifestyle was better than what I grew up with. I lost years of being with my own blood family. I started to regain my own confidance and started creating a life for myself through artistic career endeavors and husband was not supportive of it. When I came out of his culture to reconnect with my own, it was not met with support, but apprehension, and sometimes, criticism. I don't desire a strictly African American lifestyle, rather a very multicultural environment where both cultures feel supported. He says he wants it too, but there is always some form of aprehension on his part. Not only is the cultural imbalance a huge issue, but he does not naturally desire me. I have tried to keep our intimacy alive and he participates, but not totally and whole heartedly. I am left feeling undesired and unwanted and not excepted for who I really am. We have had honest, and raw conversations about this topic, as I thought he might be gay for a while because of his obvious lack of interest in me. It came out that he is not gay, but tends to have a natural preference for women that I will never look like (Euro American beauty). A lot less wars in Africa, less poverty, less fear for nuclear war, not such a polarized world with Russia and the US as it used to be before 1990. Until WWII they pretty much didn't have antibiotics. Of course, we do have terrorism, so in that way, maybe things were better in the 90's. But people with cancer etc. have a greater chance of survival, so that makes up for it I guess.

Lots of guesses and lots of unsuccessful treatments and increased frustration and misery until recently. The diagnosis is drug induced Lupus and it is believed to be caused by my blood pressure meds. Bingo. The symptoms have developed over the same period I've been on the meds. My question is: Any known effective alternatives for Blood Pressure Control? Anyone else with Lupus have bizarre skin and hair folllicle issues? Any one know a reputable doctor in Kansas City Missouri to advise on alternative treatments? Any one know of a web site to purchase alternative B/P treatments that you or someone you know have had personal experience with? Are there suggestions for a great support website for Lupus?

Need ideas for moving from Idaho to Vermont?

Ok so we have a 2004 Kia Optima FWD that we either must drive or haul with us from the great state of Idaho to the other great state of Vermont. Also taking with us, a queen size bed (no headboard just frame) a couple of small dressers (3 and 2 drawer) a medium sized entertainment center and large box TV, small curio cabinet, 2 gliding rocker chairs w/ stools, plastic chairs, plants, kitchen appliances and dishes, clothing, etc. So all of these items could easily fit into a small apartment right? Ok so that gives you an idea of the size of truck we'd need to rent. UHaul is asking about $1200 plus another $200 for a tow dolly for the Kia. Penske is a bit lower but apparently get worse gas mileage. I also have four cats. I'm already getting rid of my couches, coffee table, washer/dryer, etc. There has got to be some way to do this. We though of trading in my car for a truck which could haul a small uhaul behind it and that would be ALOT cheaper than driving a larger UHaul across country. Please help, sincerely, John & Danielle

What can i do about this nagging feeling i have?

When i was in high school i dated a lot of guys. Being naive i really thought these guys liked me but after a while of dating i realized that they just wanted me for one thing. Years went by and i did not talk to her , even see her , anywhere and that was working out well for me , i even got married in a church and had two wonderful kids , Soon after this she reappears in my family's life and she still somewhat makes me feel cheap and useless. Now i know that i was wrong when i had the the one night but it never happened again not until i got married to a different guy but hey i was married and she just gave me her stare like she always has and it really makes me mad and i feel the need to defend myself to her. How can i get over this nagging , useless feeling when i am around her , which is not often and not for very long lengths of time? I know we on occasions are going to bump into each other and i want to get some peace from this feeling. I recently got a really good ($300) Trek bike, with suspension on the seat, front AND rear handlebar brakes, room for lots of additions, and plenty more. Then, just today, I got a computer unit for the bike so I can see how fast I'm going. So now I have some really good motivation to start a biking excercise regimen. Later in the afternoon, I rode a little over 5 miles and was out of breath about twice, and even ended up stopping at a crappy water fountain along the bike trails that outline the Big Sioux River and its prospective diversion channel in the small metro area of Sioux Falls, SD (my hometown and current city of residence, population 145,000, metro pop. 230,000). Is 10 miles on that trail going too far for me? And if I decided to eventually try and ride the entire 20 mile loop without stopping, how long into my regimen should I wait before doing so? Please give me reasonable, thought out answers that make sense, not something like, "I don't think it's the best idea for you"!!

Pressure on soft palate, Scared?

Hi, I've been experiencing a feeling of pressure on my soft palate for a few weeks now. This is sometimes accompanied by a feeling of my throat closing up, or swollen glands. I also sometimes feel an ache to the left of my sternum and my left sometimes aches when I breath in. I went to the doctor a few weeks ago, who performed a gastropy (I had gastritis and a temporary hital henia) and have been on meds for acid reflux for about three. I've also had pretty bad sinus pressure in my face and headaches most days. Sometimes I feel like I can't breath in or exhale properly, although I don't feel "stuffed up." The congestion feels like its in the roof of my mouth. Any thoughts or advice? I've also had anxiety problems because of this. I'm hesitant to see doctors around here YET AGAIN -- I'm studying in Thailand until december, and I feel like they just want to get me out of their offices as fast as possible or prescribe me more Xanax, which doesn't always alleviate these symptoms or feelings of chestheaviness... Early 70's Exercise Machine?

I recall back in the early 70's there was an exercise device that I can no longer find. Take a bicycle pump, remove the stem, and reverse the valves. Put a soft rope where the stem used to be. Put another rope on the bottom of the pump. Firm up the top and bottom with pulleys. Strength is built up by the air resistance of pulling the rope through the pump. There is no recoil, so the valves have to be returned to the starting position after every repetition by pulling the rope on the bottom of the pump. I have a 1998 Isuzu rodeo, 4 cyl 5 spd. Been refilling the radiator with water every 20 miles or so for about two weeks, as it keeps overheating. Last two times I've tried to drive it, it wont make it even two miles before engine gets hot and I have to add water. I got home lastnight and checked for all signs of problems, which are; 1) When I fill the radiator while in idle, after it heats up water comes out the overflow. 2)while the car is in idle, water comes out the tailpipe, and am starting to see a tad bit of white smoke coming from it as well. 3)no visible leaks coming from car. 4)no water in oil, oil in water. 5) my car sounds and runs fine otherwise. The fact that there isnt the sludgy stuff mixed in oil or radiator, and that the car sounds, idles, revs up fine, makes me wonder if it really is a head gasket issue. Help...please?

I have to write a paper explaining the development and evolution of containment as it relates to the Cold War. I plan on using 3 examples: Truman doctrine, Korean War, and Vietnam War. For Truman doctrine I will probably talk about how it started in Turkey and Greece, NATO, how it led to Marshall plan, and its transition to the Eisenhower doctrine. My problem is with the Korean and Vietnam war. I know that they are examples of containment and military troops were sent to the 38th and 17th parallel to ist the South, but I need more in depth information of how this is an example of the development of containment. Would talking about resistance to the Viet Congs and Kennedy's CIA effort to help the South explain containment? Basically I just need more in depth information...

I was originally charged with impaired driving, failing to remain at the scene of an accident. I side swiped a empty parked bus with the back of my truck in December with icy conditions. Honestly, I was unaware that my truck and the bus came in contact with each other because no damage was ever found on either vehicle and the bus company didn't file a damage report. The bus driver saw me and grabbed my license plate and called the police, so when I pull up into my drive way there is a police car waiting for me. They tell me to get back here now. They put my under arrest for suspicion of drunk driving. They also mistakenly search my truck for 15 minutes without my permission. We get to the police station and they sit me in this room and tell me to call a lawyer and I freaked out on this police officer when no lawyer could be reached at 3 in the morning. So foolishly I demanded a breathalyzer test. (ALWAYS REFUSE ONE IF YOUR IN THIS SITUATION, LESS EVIDENCE THE BETTER.) I get double the legal limit. Fast forward to court. I payed a total of $6800 for a personal lawyer in my case. They have the bus driver witness there and the police officer and my test results so surly Id be convicted and face a one year driving suspension and possibly a 2000 dollar fine, plus the criminal record which I did not want. My lawyer worked his magic on the crown prosecution and got me a plea deal from a technicality. The time difference between my first breath test and my second test was 45 minutes. I pleaded guilty to Careless driving, a measly Traffic Ticket. All other charges were withdrawn or dismissed, the cop was apparently quite mad at the situation. I got a one month suspension and a $1150 dollar fine. So in total I have gave the corrupted lawyer system $8000. The crown prosecuter is going to my lawyers partners wedding. They all know each other, defense lawyers, prosecuters, and judges. If you have the money you can get off of anything. Do you think the justice system is corrupt and mostly just about money?

My 3 month old son seems sleep alot recently and tugs his ear when he gets to sleep. He gets irritable easily and starts with grizzly cries + jerky arm&leg movements when he's tired. He won't let me feed him and keeps rolling over from front to back. The grizzling will become scream crying. I don't know if he's tired or bored but he can only play for a little while before getting grumpy again. His daily naps only can last for 1 hour or less and he keeps waking up during the night for feeding. I thought it might be the time to give him solids but he doesn't like baby rice and stuff. I was just wondering whether I should continue giving him solids(such as fruits) while he poos alot or whether there is something wrong with my baby (such as ear infection)? He was very good and didn't cry a lot. I am quite concerned. Any suggestions would be great!! Thanks!!

Why are adoptions so expensive?

I've heard that some adoptions (especially foreign ones) can run up to 20k-25k. At those prices not many can afford to adopt a child. Why doesn't the state subsidize some or all of the costs? The child wold be better off with a family and it saves the state 18 years of costs. It just seems to me that if the government really wanted to find a good home for as many kids as possible they would make it much easier for the families.

College brat angry at me over a seat?

I am in college and as I was walking into cl to my usual seat, a girl was in the process of pulling out the chair to sit in my seat. Normally I could care less but my friend sits right behind me. So I quickly spoke up and said "oh no honey, that's my seat." She listened and didn't sit but as she walked by me she was definitely pissed. She said very loudly "Oh I didn't know we had igned seats". Oh my God she took it totally the wrong way! I swear I didn't sound mean or condescending in my voice but I sure got on her bad side.
