How do I make this right in my heart?

I am 29 years old and I have permanantly terminated all contact with my mother about a year ago. She is mentally ill and severly abusive. She beat me and called me names as a child and as an adult, she has some vendeta against me. She has done some very bad things to me and has behaved very strangly. I always forgave her and stayed in her life..then she would cut me down again and again. I decided that I ned to set boundaries for myself and seriously never ever have anything to do with her again. This still does not feel right in my heart. What should I do?
