Why does he care about all this if I'm just his fwb (friends with benefits)?

Sounds like he's trying to transition you into more than a fwb.If he's taking you out in public than he's interested in more. If he's asking you not to " talk dirty" more than likely he's looking for respect, guts do that when they want more.
