Where did the anti-freedom liberals go?

I am talking about the ones who claimed that people in middle-eastern countries were overthrowing their government without guns. Have you not seen Libya where the people are using firearms to protect themselves from pro-government forces? How about Iran where, if the people had guns, they could overthrow their government forces but are rendered powerless without them?
